Biomass Renewable Energy Plants
Gordon Murray Architects were commissioned by Forth Energy, a joint venture between Forth Ports Plc and SSE (Scottish Southern Energy) to develop conceptual design proposals for a series of new Biomass Renewable Energy Plants in Scotland at their ports of Dundee, Grangemouth, Rosyth and Leith in support of Section 36 Applications.

amsterdam studio, information based architecture has seen the realization of ‘canton tower’ located in guangzhou, china. the 600 meter tall design was awarded first place in a 2004 competition seeking a new proposal for the plot of land. the structure of the tv and sightseeing tower, which aims to inhabit an intricate design while maintaining a simple overall identity, explores new forms while at the same time challenging current building technologies allowing for a greater degree of complexity and freedom.

The robot is studded with sensors. One is a device that picks up the electrical disturbance that is produced from electrical arcs if electricity is jumping through the air. Another uses lidar, which, like radar, finds the range of distant objects, but using light instead of radio waves.
The lidar would show whether there is enough distance between the power lines and the ground or the trees. There is an infrared sensor that finds hot spots, which could indicate a bad splice, And it has a high-quality optical camera that would look at cables, towers and tower foundations for signs of wear and tear, and even spot encroaching neighbors who could have a backyard swimming pool or garden shed that is partly on the utility right-of-way.

In September 2010, New York City released the NYC Green Infrastructure Plan which presents an alternative approach to improving water quality that integrates “green infrastructure,” such as swales and green roofs, with investments to optimize the existing system and to build targeted, cost-effective “grey” or traditional infrastructure.
